Hello! I've made some videos on migraines and watercolor recently, blogged How Watercolor Helps Me Cope with Migraines, and learned how to make good closed captions and subtitles on youtube. Someone on the I Traveled for 3 Weeks with These Watercolor Supplies video asked for Brazilian Portuguese subtitles. And I went down a rabbit hole figuring that out. Turns out I can now edit the closed captions again. And you'll never guess how I did that. Evernote Transcription. Like, it'll auto transcribe the video FROM THE LINK! And then I just go in and fix a few words (like QoR instead of core, Tumuarta, Sennelier, Cinerious, Hansa yellow, that kind of thing. And one time it called me Meaghan...um It's Megan...) and then copy and paste that into the youtube studio subtitles section of the specific video, and youtube figures out the timings, and then I hit publish. Then I discovered once I fix the auto captions, people can auto translate for themselves...like right from the youtube video...on their end. I literally just needed to do English captions. But I did learn that Evernote Transcription does a better job than youtube auto captions, so I have less to fix to make the cc good. So now I'm going through and fixing up the CC, and basically watching all my old videos in the background and reading what I said. It's interesting to get an overview like that. Sometimes I can be so rambley all over the place lol. AAAAND! I then had this nicely polished up transcription of a video, and I made a blog post out of it! More places for people to get the information they need, more accessible to have both a video and a witten blog post version of something. So you can now read: How Watercolor Helps Me Cope with Migraines I just needed to add behind the scenes photos, which as a photographer, I already had. :) I mentioned in that video that I filmed painting with a blindfold/sleepmask on (because I had a light sensitive migraine, but really wanted to paint) but that I lost the footage cause of said migraine. Well I found it! You can watch that video now too: And I think it really helps that I added closed captions to that video, since I was talking so quietly cause I had a migraine. Thanks for being here, building up an email list gets me excited to continue to make more stuff and help more people, whether you have chronic health challenges or not. Hope you're having an awesome day! Megan :) ♡ Hello I'm Megan! I'm a photographer and watercolor artist with chronic health challenges, POTS and wrist strength issues. Hello! ♡ Happy May! It's probably my favorite month because I have a birthday in May. :D Here's what I've done on Youtube recently, in case you missed it: First off, I found my vermillion bijou! Remember in that What pans fit in what watercolor palette video, I couldn't find it to show you what fits...Well I found it! So I filmed what fits, and made my first ever Youtube short. It didn't seem like it would be good to make a whole video on just that, so the short format worked in this case. I...
Hello! ♡ Happy April! What I've been up to recently: I've had some fun videos come out. One on a giant flat brush, and one on caring for plants if you have chronic health challenges (yes! its possible, yes I like rewatching that video for a laugh; it's good to laugh at yourself sometimes.) In case you missed it: I made a series of watercolor travel supplies videos: one on the 3 types of kits, a couple on "what fits" in the palettes and bags, and one on packing up a doctor's appointment art...
February Sitting with a cup of tea this morning (11:53 am counts as morning!). I took a class in 2020 from Sue Bryce on CreativeLive online about how to run a photography business. I’m remembering her blogging strategy: Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. The idea was to do one each week; but I’ve decided to try that for a monthly newsletter. Something Old What I got up to this month. There were 4 videos this month! That’s about one a week. That’s great! Video: A...
